VideoSpec retrieves technical data from almost any multimedia file using a series of open source tools: MPlayer, FFmpeg, MediaInfo CLI and qt_tools.
The application is divided into four windows. The first window shows basic details like the trash can, the date a file was created, the bit rate, the size, and the multimedia file compatibility with QuickTime.
The second and third windows show secrets of the video and audio tracks: the format, type of bitrate, resolution, aspect ratio, rate and audio channels. The last window provides information on the authorship of the multimedia file, such as subtitles, name of the album to which the track belongs, genre, etc.
A similar tool that is worth trying is MediaInfo Mac
